Phacoemulsification devices market is projected to reach US$ 374 Mn by 2029 growing at a CAGR of 4.3% during the forecast period 2023 to 2029. Phacoemulsification is a cataract surgical procedure in which the internal lens of the eye is emulsified. The procedure is carried out by performing incisions in the eye to allow the surgical instruments. Two small incisions are made in the eye where the clear front covering of the eye (Cornea) meets the sclera. A circular opening is made in the front part of lens capsule. A surgical instrument (phaco probe) is inserted into the eye. The lens is broken and is removed, the surgeon uses suction in order to remove the pieces of the lens. The popularity of phacoemulsification technology has risen dramatically as a result of technological improvements that have increased its efficiency and safety. The success of this method is due to the development of viscoelastic agents combined with contemporary phacoemulsification processes. The incidence of both postoperative and intraoperative capsular problems has decreased as a result of improved surgical procedures for removing anterior lens capsules. Furthermore, nucleus removal is now performed in the posterior chamber rather than the anterior chamber, resulting in less injury to the corneal endothelium.
